Three years ago, just before Christmas, I lost my Standard Poodle to BIO-Spot dog flea control. I bathed the dog, dried her and applied the product at 1/3 the rate suggested on the label.
A day or so later she became lethargic, at which point we took her to the vet. She was there for several days on I.V.'s and medication when her organs shut down and she suffered a heart attack. The vet knew before he treated her that this pet product was probably the culprit since he has had numerous animals he has been unable to save due to its use.
I called and wrote the parent company (Farnam) and they did respond with a phone call from a "doctor" stating they had no record of this ever happening before (bull). I contacted the Humane Society and every government body available in hopes of stopping them from selling this poison to unsuspecitng pet owners to no avail. My vetinerian did report this incident as he had the numerous other deaths involving this product.
It is still on the shelves, and that really makes me mad. I would think at the very least, a disclaimer on the label that "This product may kill your pet" would be mandated.
Don't buy Bio-Spot if you care about your dog!!
