Bluecare Family Plan HMO (State Of Connecticut Insurance)
Disincludes Veteran Hospital (Veterans with coverage cannot file a claim)

More proof that HMO's are destructive. A veteran has to pay only $8 for a prescription medication at the West Haven VA Hospital. Being that the state of Connecticut health care choice is the Blue Care Family Plan (HMO) the Veteran's hospital is "out of network."

If you are a veteran of the armed forces, and you have little or no income, you might apply for state health care. If you get that prescription from the VA Hospital, don't expect the state of Connecticut to pay the copay. The country is pushing to get everyone health care in the country, but flaws like this need to be reviewed and dealt with in case of these mistakes, before taking full effect.

I think that in defense of veterans (both democrat and republican candidates support them) a rule should be in effect by now regarding this. VA hospitals should be required to be added to all health care providers. This way, a veteran that has state insurance can get the care he or she needs, without the red tape.
