This began almost 2 years ago (in 2006)... I went to the Rock Road location of On The Beach Tanning in Wichita, KS to use a card for 7 complimentary tans I had received from a friend. At the end of this session, I was asked by an employee if I'd like to purchase a contract. I said I did not. She advised me that if I wanted to fill out all the paperwork except my bank information that she would keep it to the side until my next visit so I could think about it. She told me this would not be turned in as a contract unless I came back with my bank information. I never returned to the facility because I was not impressed with them.
About 6 or 7 months later, I began recieving letters from a collection agency (Affiliated Acceptance Corporation). I called them immediately to dispute. The representative on the other end pretty much told me I was out of luck!!! I have even tried disputing this on-line through a credit report I purchased. I am not having any luck and I am very frustrated with the dishonesty displayed by this company. I cannot find a phone number for the corporate office. Last time I checked they are claiming I owe around $900.00 for a contract I clearly told their employee I did not want; One I was told would not be started and services never rendered. This is also damaging my credit report. These people are dishonest thieves!
I am now overseas in Europe due to military orders for my husband and am having to deal with this as an added stress to our move.
