I too, am the victim of a Scam! I saw an advertisment on the internet for a free sample bottle of Hoodia, and paid the required S&H ($5.49) via my credit card. I received the sample bottle in about one week. Two weeks later, I received another bottle of Hoodia, shipped in a brown envelope, with no paperwork enclosed. I didn't get alarmed at this point, as I thought it may have been another free sample sent in error.
When I received my credit card bill, I saw the following transactions: Nov. 7 charge $5.49 Hoodia Complex 800-597-8533, Nov. 13 charge $2.50 Hoodia Complex 800-597-8533, and Nov. 20 charge $69.95 Hoodia Complex 800-597-8654. There was no disclaimer in the internet ad stating that I was authorizing the auto-payment for future shipments.
I immediately called my credit card company, explained the situtation, and I am in the process of a formal "dispute". Tomorrow, I am calling the 800 number for Hoodia and requesting a refund of the $2.50 and the $69.95. After that, I am packing the bottle with a letter, and returning the same to the address on the bottle, requesting verification of return, via the Post Office.
I will update you with my progress, and appreciate any assistance or advise you can give me. We need to stop this type of Scam. I have learned a valuable lesson.
