Nathan Walters @ Dr Peloza Center For Spine Care
Pain to be in pain management

My experience in Dr Peloza's office (center for spine care) started out very well. The office staff was very friendly. I never actually saw dr peloza but was seen by two of his physician assistants. Very very understanding and nice people. I was diagnosed with having a cervical neck problem in which i am having nerve issues that is very painful. I had a set of injections which helped a little but did not alleviate the total problem as well as an MRI when i went in initially to see where the problem was and was diagnosed with cervical radiculopathy..

At this point in time realizing that conservative care was my best option (possibly future injections, medications, etc).. They were done with what they could really do at this point and referred me to dr nathan walters who just entered their practice as their pain management doctor. For me it was nothing but a big joke!!!

I was greeted by him first off by saying that he could and would not fill any pain medications (the pa's before had been giving me pain medications knowing how uncomfortable my situation was with the condition) until i could in the future hopefully get it under control... I had come to him in the hopes of talking about treatment options, physical therapy etc..

The first thing that he says is that "sorry i will not be able to fill your medications".. He talks over the top of you, does not really look you in the eye (which is something i can't stand and very bad body language) and really has this overall uncompassionate, uncaring attitute... Whatever i wanted to say or did say was so unimportant to him. He asked me no questions about anything... On top of it he decides that if i really look at getting into physical therapy to treat my muscles which are really tight in my back and neck that it would probably help a great deal... Has anyone ever heard of muscle therapy helping nerve pain... Tell me if i am wrong...

He mentioned nothing of my diagnosis that was given to me and anything about nerve pain at all which is what i went to see dr peloza's office about in the beginning... He gives me a muscle relaxer and sends me on my way with directions for physical therapy muscle therapy... What a joke... I know i could use some muscle therapy but the thing that is so painful is the nerve issue... Not addressed at all... Actually brushed it off like it was not a big deal...

I would never go see him if you need a very compassionate and caring pain management doctor who wants to make sure you are as comfortable as possible... I told him the pain medication greatly helps me carry out my daily activities where without i am very uncomfortable, irritable, etc and that it helps until i get some kind of relief from another source... He actually went on a spiel about how the dea watching them like hawks, he has a family he does not want to hurt and all... What in the world is that... Go to a doctor who is afraid of his own shadow? Please!!! I was so angry and upset and told the front office how i felt... He is terrible..

Please save your copay or out of pocket and find a pain management doctor who is truly interested in helping relieve your pain while also finding appropriate treatment that may help... He is very unprofessional and more scared of his credentials than in helping people for which his specialty is devoted... Beware!!! Stay away!!! I am warning you!!! Not a good thing... He needs to be in internal medicine or something and he would probably be just fine...
