Remember; If it sounds to good to be true... Then it probably is. I wish I would have heeded this advice when I came across Herbal Smoke Shop's web site announcing 'legal herbal buds'.
It looked good, the description was convincing, and the testimonials were incredible. I was convinced that this would be a great alternative product to 'illegal buds'.
I placed my order for a 1/2 ounce of the Hawaiian Gold Bud on the 15th of April, yesterday May 9th I got my order. Not the ULTRA fast shipping that the claim. I tore open the package and inside was a small bag of Lactuca Virosa (it says so right on the package).
I didn't know what to expect. I knew it wouldn't be pot, but the statements and advertising on the website led me to believe I would get something Very similar. It wasn't even close. The testimonials, descriptions, and pictures are very desceptive and misleading. Had there been a statement that this is product is WILD LETTUCE I would have never purchased it.
A web search for Lactuca Virosa yeilded me this statement; Also known as Wild Lettuce, the Biennial, growing up to 2-4 feet, maximum height of 6 feet (cultivated plants usually smaller). The erect stem, springing from a brown tap-root, is smooth and pale green, sometimes spotted with purple. Leaves are from 6 to 18 inches long, flowers are pale yellow, with large open clusters. Commonly found along river banks and waste fields.
The package was the smallest half ounce I have ever seen. It did not look, smell, or taste like anything familiar. After smoking 2 bowls of this 'alternative product' I had a very light buzz, a headache, a sore throat, and my lungs hurt later that evening. Contrary to other reports, this product was not glued or dyed, it is a real plant.
The description for the "legal bud" "Hawaiian Gold Bud" taken directly from the website Herbal-Smoke-Shop.com reads as follows... I will interject where I feel necessary. I will mark all interjections with capitol letters

The testimonials are also a load of crap. I am sure they were written by someone within the company.
The disclaimer that says CAUTION, DO NOT OPERATE HEAVY MACHINERY OR DRIVE A CAR AFTER USING THIS PRODUCT is a deceptive misleading statement again.
If you are looking for an alternative to pot, go out in your backyard and pick some grass you'll be better off and money ahead.
Shame on you Herbal Smoke Shop.
