On 3-4-06, I was on a free site offering a free laptop. This site took me to a list of free stuff that I needed to choose 2 to be awarded the free laptop. This site was found on Pogo as an advertisement on their game site.
I agreed to pay $1.99 for shipping of a 7-day free sample of BurnFat 2. There were no terms of service or agreement on the site where I ordered the free sample with only agreeing to pay the $1.99 shipping.
I received the free sample and then within the next week, I noticed a charge on my bank account in the amount of $99.90. I tried to call the number listed on the transaction, but always reached a recording asking me to leave my name and number and someone would get back to me. I did this 5 times and to date (4-10-06) have not received a return call. I called all times of the day and night and always got the recorded answering machine.
I emailed them and their only response to all of my emails was an "auto-reply" telling me to check their terms and conditions. I was not given the option to check any terms and conditions when I agreed to the 7-day free sample. The terms and conditions were regarding a 14-day free trial.
A week later, I noticed a charge on my account again from a company called E-Curves in the amount of $29.87.
I went to my bank to dispute these charges and was told that due to the fact they were charged to my debit card, I was required to file a report with the bank. I have done so and am awaiting their response as to whether or not I will get my money back.
These people are scam artists to the max and they need to be stopped.
