Hello a warning to all about Gallagher-Bassett kcmo AND doctor RUSSELL CANTRELL who is their paid company doctor here in St. Louis.
I experienced the same run around with respect to payment and answering letters when i first contacted Gallagher-Bassett. However I faxed them an overview of my complaint and reminded them that under Missouri law they are required to pay within two weeks - they started to pay benefits.
They sent me as quickly as possible to two doctors of which the second was the worst - ie DOCTOR RUSSEL CANTRELL OF SPORTS MEDICINE IN KIRKWOOD MISSOURI. After Doctor Cantrell LOST MY PHYSICAL MRI he claimed there was only minimal damage to my back. My MRI shows 4 herniated disks. Dr Cantrell recommended I return to work where I lift heavy boxes and move heavy machinery every day..?!!
I did procure a CD copy of my MRi as DR CANTRELL did NOT replace the hard copy that he "lost". (some doctors do not want the CD copy but prefer the Hard copy.)
My weekly check was immediately stopped based on his mis-diagnosis.
Hence I see why I was rushed through Physical therapy and got a second appointment all within 2 weeks.
How many disks need to be damaged before they believe someone is injured?
I am in severe daily pain and my mobility is limited to small trips for necessities. Other medical issues like neck pain and problems with headaches have been reported but completely ignored by G-B company doctors.
I am in the process of getting a second opinion at this time and I am sure an ethical doctor would recommend surgery.
If Gallagher-Bassett releases funds for surgery and sets up pain management for my daily pain, I will note such, as it would be fair to do so.
However to this date I have heard nothing but bad things about their company and my experience to this date verifies this.
I will update this next week as I get more feedback/information.
