I bought a two seater loveseat (Sales No. 172897) from The Place Furniture Galleries, Farmingdale, NY on 8/16, paying $1,122.09. The loveseat was delivered to my home on 9/24. At the time of I bought the loveseat, I was told by the sales person, Katie, that it had leather upholstery. Given the price of the loveseat, I had no reason to doubt it. However, after 3 years of normal use, the upholstery where the back of the sitting person's body comes in contact with is torn, showing its non-leather, synthetic upholstery. I brought the matter to the attention of the store manager at the Place Furniture Galleries.in a exchange of emails, the Place Furniture Galleries told me that the sales person no longer works for them and since the warranty on the purchase has expired the store has no responsibility to compensate me. I insisted that the issue was not about warranty but about the integrity of the store, the Place Furniture Galleries which misled the customer when it sold the loveseat. Thus, my complaint remains unresolved.
