American Kitchen Corporation is the company that makes the egg patties for fast food restaurants. The chickens are housed in miserable conditions. Amkico suppliers cram birds into huge waste-filled factories, breed and drug them to grow so large that they can’t even walk, and make them produce huge eggs.
American Kitchen Corporation's own animal welfare advisors have asked the company to take steps to eliminate these abuses. Many advisors have now resigned in frustration. There is no reason they don't use smaller eggs. The patties would taste the same and they would only have to raise the prices a few pennies.
I would advise you to avoid any restaurant that serves Amkico eggs, but unfortunately, that is just about every fast-food restaurant there is. Do not buy extra large eggs at grocery stores. They are probably grown the same way. Chickens were not designed to produce such large eggs. Imagine having to squeeze out eggs that large.
