RIPOFF if you need something electronical, go somewhere else

Upon purchasing an RCA 32" Television from the Lima, Ohio ABC Warehouse, I purchased the warranty plan. Apparently, this warranty is to be pushed as a false sense of security seeing as how I have been attempting to use it to no avail.

The television began to show severe discoloration which would cover half of the screen if not more, making whatever you were watching a splendid shade of purple. Then to make things more interesting, after watching the television for 3 to 4 hours the TV would turn itself off. When you would turn it back on, all settings returned to the default settings; as if I had just taken it out of the box and plugged it in. So I called the service department, like you are supposed to do, and waited for almost a month before the technician came to the house... The FIRST time.

After a rather heated discussion about the "In Home Service" statement in the warranty and demanding an explanation as to why if it were "IN HOME" why were they taking it "OUT OF HOME", I reluctantly agreed to allow them to take it. So I was without a television for 2 weeks while they repaired the television. It finally came back and as soon as I plugged it in and turned it in, it was worse than when they had taken it.

So back to the phone I went, and again another week and a half for the tech to show up to again TAKE the TV. This time, a 3 week wait. It was returned and AGAIN it was not corrected. So for the THIRD time I called and they came and got it. During the 3 weeks for the 3rd tech service I was battling with ABC General and District Managers to just swap out the television. They stated that due to it being 2 years in age they have to have "approval" to swap out a DEFECTIVE item.

Finally, the television returned, and on the invoice..."DID NOTHING TO TELEVISION, NO VISIBLE ISSUES"!! Ummm ok, so now I am hallucinating the malfunctions apparently. I called the District Manager who stated to be outraged at the invoice and was going to see to it PERSONALLY that the television was exchanged. Low and behold, 2 months later and here I am typing this out as I wait for a call from the Regional Manager as to the status and situation with my product. This is a disgusting display of business and needless to say, I will no longer do business with this company.

On a side note, the last two interactions friends or family of mine have had with ABC have been troubled. My mother's refrigorator finally bit the dust and she went and purchased a new fridge and stove from ABC. After THREE WEEKS of the products NOT being delivered, the woman had to take her short bed pickup and drive the 24 miles herself, put the products on the truck herself and then drive them home, then battle again for ABC to pick up the old appliances as they PROMISED! Then my friend went to ABC and purchased a DVD Recorder. Upon bringing it home, taking it out of the box and hooking it up, it didn't work. He took it back to the store the next day and battled for almost three HOURS for them to exchange that! So a word of advice, if you need something electronical, go somewhere else!!
