A new house is under construction for me. At the Home Depot in Festus, MO, I ordered an LG refrigerator, 31 Cubic, on Black Friday for $2198.00 after a reduction from $3100.00, and I thought it was on order. According to the paperwork, my home builder would pay for the refrigerator and collect it once the house was finished.
It was not an order but a "Quote" that lapsed after 7 days. I had no idea, and clearly the builder was unaware of any lapse date. The quote carried no statement about expiry or about the price returning to the original. One date appeared on it, but nothing marked it as an expiration.
Two store managers heard my arguments, and I phoned customer service at the corporate offices too, with no result whatsoever. A $300 discount was proposed, leaving a price of $2900.00.
Anyone buying appliances from Home Depot should be careful. I got taken advantage of, and the same will happen to you.
