I was driving from a sports card place in Lakewood, CO when we heard these guys yelling out of an SUV to the people behind to buy some speakers and they said no, so they asked us to pull over.
So I pulled over and began talking to him. His name was Brian and his last name I can't spell but it was Italian, he was about 5'7', around 23 years old, shaggy hair and he always say..."BADDDD". Anyway, he supposedly was trying to get money for a hotel room and some bar spending money by selling these Theater Research systems because they ordered to many of them.
He said they sold for 1,999.00 each and I was like, "I don't think so" He said "Were willing to make an offer though." As I was listening to the information about the speakers and all I was thinking, this doesn't sound right. I took a look at his license plates which were from FL and it was a blushish, expedition I believe. So I talked to him and then I got in the car and talked to my girlfriend and we were thinking, this is too good to be true but its seems alright. So I wrote him a check and offered 650.00 for them and he offered to follow me to the bank to cash it but I was in a hurry and said no.
Well, believe it or not we were hard up for cash so we tried pawning it and they were only trynna give like 25$ for the whole thing and that didnt' seem right to me.
I went into circuit city and asked them about it and they helped look it up on the internet and we found it was a scam. Well, I called the bank and told them to cancel the check. So I got a hold of the guy selling the speakers and he said he'll take another form of payment, so I told him to come just get the speakers from the hotel we were staying in.
So they said they will be on their way because they are coming from the Mile Hi hotel on Simms. That didnt' sound right either so I called 411 and they said it didnt' exist and they got to that area we were in within 10 minutes and Simms is alteast 30, so we believe they were following us.
They got there and I told them I didn't want it and all of a sudden Brian got all mad and acted like he was going to hit me because I led him around all this time. I asked for a business card and they couldn't supply me one but from the recipt they had for the speakers so they tore it off and said that # will be disconnected because they are moving.
Supposedly Ocean Sound is out of FL, and they were moving to Colorado Springs. So, they he was like I can call the cops for you writing a bad check, and I said go right on ahead, you don't know if its bad or cancelled. He got mad and they drove off. Convenient I know. Also, when I called his cell phone oddly he had the Disturbing the Peace recorded message on it. That seems odd to me. Anyone else have the info for these guys?
