New, non-working GPS. Returned for service/repair 3 times, received it back without repair same non-working condition, sent many letters to various Megellan address and contact names. No answers to

New Magellan Roadmate 1700 GPS. Defective as coming out of the box. Returned to Magellan three times for repair. It was returned in the same condition as sent to them. No repair done, same unit returned. It will not give directions correctly. Compared to two other GPS brand we have. It also will not work on battery - it goes dead in seven minutes after overnight charge.

We have tried to comunicate with Magellan via phone, several letters including one to CEO, no response.

Currently I have an expensive GPS that does not work.

I since looked up a report on Magellan and find the company has changed ownership and several CEO in the last few years.

My advise is, do not but magellan. They will leave you stuck with your purchase with no real support, just talk!
