The LCD died

I bought a new Blackberry from Safe National of America three weeks ago. Just so you understand, I take great care of my things especially when it comes to electronics. So it was no where my fault that this week after my Blackberry got turned off due to empty battery life, its LCD won't start up after I charged it. I thought maybe it just needs to warm up but no, the LCD was really destroyed. I haven't got clue why. I went back to the store and wanted it changed, but the clerk told me that they could only exchange the product within two weeks of purchase other than that they can only repair it. But I just brought it knew and as far as I've known the warranty was for a year, and they said that warranty doesn't extend to smart phones, PDA's and cellular phones. And they don't exchange damage such as what happened to mine even if it's within the two week period. What happened to “customers are always right”. I wanted it exchanged since its just three weeks old, practically brand new and it got damaged for reasons I don't know why and they are telling me no! I don't get that, I don't accept that. There was something wrong with their products and they don't know how to take care of customers. They don't deserve their name!
