I went to the Bossier City Verizon Store to replace a broken wireless modem that did not have a contract because I was loosing my job in about a month. I choose the store on Texas Street.
I told the clerk that I had broken the modem and was wanting to replace it with another one without a contract. I would be loosing my job in April so i didn't want the contract. My friend was a witness to this conversation. He told me I could get a new one with-out the contract for $60 with a $50 dollar rebate and I asked but is this without a contract and he said yes and again I asked "without contract" because I will be loosing my job. I lost my job and he gave me a contract and verizon says because I got the rebate and signed the ticket they are charging me $500.00 disconnect fees. The phone was under a one year contract, the modem was put under a 2 year contract and I have to pay for the phone itself.
Later I was having trouble with my cell phone that I had for 4 months (2nd one) and the issue was not being resloved so I told them to disconnect my 2 lines a 2 phones. This is the point that I found out the sales clerk had put the modem on a 2 year contract.
