Sent Fualty Childrens Ride on Jeep and refuse to Refund Cost

I purchased a ride on car jeep for my son for Christmas. At the time i purchased the car the website did not say that we were going to have construct the car ourselves. When we (My husband and I) recieved the car, we realised that we had to construct it ourselves.

The instructions to construct the car were on two separate sheets, one in poorly written English and one in Chinese. It was very difficult to read but nevertheless we perservered. It took us two hours to build the car. Once it was built we started to charge up the battery, we spent the full 12 hours charging the battery. After the full time of charging the car would not go.

So i emailed SOLDSMART to see if we could return the car. Their response was to offer us a $55 refund and free parts to fix the car. I objected to this as it is not my responsibility to repair a faulty item, it is the company's responsibility to honor their product. Several emails have gone back and forth and each time they are refusing to give us a full refund once they recieve the car back to their warehouse.

Their website offers refunds for faulty good, as well as a paid return pastage. On one of the emails they said that we would have to organise to get the item checked to see what parts were needed - they did not tell us where, we had to spend however long finding a place to fix it ourselves or paying an electircian to do it, which i refuse. On another occasion they told us to get a courier and they would swap the item for another one - I do not want another car from them when this one has cause us so much trouble.

Also, they should be organising the courier not us. There are many issues with the way this company has conducted business, not to mention when I did a search of them on the internet several websites came up with many customer complaints with exactly the same issues I have experienced. I hoursspent many hours emailing them trying to get a result each time to no avail. I am at my wits end.
