So I was on my way from school to work and I had just stopped to cash my paycheck at the bank. As I got into my car, these two guys pulled up in a blue Jeep Liberty and said, "Hey man, you need a home theatre system?"
I initially said no but they popped the back anyway and showed me the six systems they had. They told me that they worked for a delivery company and they got these six extra shipped in, and they were each keeping one for themselves. They wanted to sell the other four because their boss would keep them for himself once they got back.
They offered me $750 for a $3,500 Epic Home Theatre Sound System, and I only had 275. So they said to just hand over the 275 and it's mine. Well I'm a poor college student and need gas money. They offered me a cheaper system, $1,999 for 200 bucks and I second guessed myself like 3 or 4 times, thinking over and over I have no use for this stupid thing.
Then I got the bright idea that my buddy's birthday was coming up and he just got a new tv. So I thought it would be a sweet gift for him. So I stopped thinking and just bought the dang thing. Big mistake.
He said that I'm going to be so happy, the next time I see him I'll want to buy him a beer. Well I don't drink, and I'm underage but he said I would anyway. So I let them drive off, he gave me his name, Josh, and I opened the box after they left. I didn't see anything wierd about it until I got off work and looked the company up online.
Apparently Epic doesn't exist. A previous consumer complaints said that thier speakers were full of sand and everything was just shiny plastic. Sure enough it was he same case. I'm dumb. I'm broke. I'm pissed.
