Criticom Monitoring
Manufacturing faulty, inferior alarm systems

I received notice today that SAI/APX / now Castle Rock has turned my account over to Anderson, Crenshaw & Associations, a collection agency now under investigation for deceptive practices in Texas. They are demanding funds in the amount of $867.10 alleging breach of contract, for the entire term of the contract, plus the equipment, installation and other fees. My monitoring system supplied by Criticom Monitoring was on bypass since January because the window and door sensors ceased to work, causing the alarm to go off, consequently causing the police to ticket me 3 times in a year. Castle Rock is not claiming any responsibility for the faulty parts. No other licensed Electrician will repair the system because it can only be replaced.

I tried to contact SAI/Castle Rock, and tell them of the problems with the system, and the response was the repair office would contact me within 1-5 business days, but the calls never came. I was told by Justin in collections they are only responsible for the system for 3 months, after that it is up to me to have it repaired or replaced. The company's collection agent also threatened that if I did not allow them to go into my credit file, then they would report me to the Credit Bureau, as refusing to pay, and ruin me financially. He also stated they would search my credit history to see what credit cards had enough open credit to would allow them to put the $867 on. This is not the first time experiencing problems with SAI Systems, i.E., APX Alarm / now Castle Rock.

I filed a consumer report with the BBB, and a complaint with the State of Illinois Professional Licensing Dept against the owner. He agreed as resolution to refund me the payments that I made as reconciliation. One month later, he sold my account to SAI, and they made me pay back the money that APX refunded me. It was a matter of me refusing to allow them access to my checking account which would allow them take out the payments. I have on line banking and pay all of my bills this way, no one accesses my account. I had excellent credit until now, because the company is trying to collect for equipment they know is faulty and inferior. I also have a credit for $80.00 because my account was sold and I made overpayments, they refused to add the amount to the bill they claim is 3 months behind, thus voids my contract according to them. The $80.00 would have covered the cost however on October 25; customer service told me that they would apply it to any repairs. When the technician did not come out to repair the system, what happened to my credit? When I noticed this, I did not pay the bill for 3 months because I had a credit. This now only would make me 1 month late. Now I am being blamed for lack of payment when they owe me and failed to honor their commitment of the contract.

SAI/Castle Rock knowingly installed faulty, inferior equipment that would fail before the contract ended. This is there method of operation. Deceptive practices, non disclosure, and fraudulent advertising. Prior to this I had monitoring with ADT for 18 years and no problems, and I can verify this.
