I am glad that Circuit City has folded. Why you may ask when so many people have lost their jobs? Well the answer is simple, it is better to lose a disreputable company that constantly rips of the public than to acknowledge and reward them by purchasing goods in their stores. Within this supposed Liquidation Sale (hardly) the policy in Tucson is 'Double the original price and then discount it' This happened at the Oracle Road store where an Epson Printer R280 was displayed at $199.99 original price reduced to $59.99. I returned within 2 hours of my purchase after checking the Epson website which showed the rrp at $99.99 and on offer for $59.99. The manager was intimidating and told me I had to leave the store if I wished to make a legal complaint because of his refusal to refund the item. (He is covered here by ridiculous Liquidation Law). I was not happy with his attitude and as I left the store he asked me if I wanted to make it 'personal' as he stood next to a 'bouncer' standing at the exit. I noticed they followed me out of the store, but as luck would have it a police car was parked close by. I headed for it and just left and drove home. If this company can employ 'goons' like this who are apparently (the managers) on a commission for their sales, is it any wonder that they will con and cheat the public to the very end. I hasten to add that this would NEVER happen in the UK because Laws/Statutes exist along with Consumer Services who constantly monitor bad retail practices.
