Sold unlocked Motorola phone with text messaging software faults, won't rectify

I bought an unlocked Motorola phone from these guys. Because I was switching cell providers, it was a few weeks before I realised that it was generating a spurious text message to "453" every time I switched the phone on, costing me 20c - I didn't realise it was the phone initially. I was returning to England a couple of days later, so left it till my return.in England, it won't send texts at all, but I can't remember the error message it gives. I've tried different sim cards and phones and it is definitely the phone at fault.

When I returned to the US, they told me that as their warranty only lasts 90 days, so I would have to send it to Motorola. I did that when I went back to the UK, but Motorola said that they were not allowed to wipe the software and reinstall it, as it was installed by a third party.

So, on my next return to the US, just under 6 months after I bought it, I contacted WirelessstoreUSA again and they completely refuse to do anything about the faulty item. The girl I spoke to was very rude, told me that I was crazy to think I could send something to be fixed over 7 months after buying it (it's less than 6 months) and if it doesn't work in the UK I should have bought a quad band phone - clearly it is, as it handles voice calls in the UK, but she is ignorant as well as rude. She hung up on me.

So, buyer beware: it seems that PayPal won't allow a dispute to be registered this late, my credit card company has no power here as their customer is PayPal and I'd already left positive Ebay feedback on PayPal. I have just seen negative feedback on WirelessstoreUSA so others are fortunately in time to register their problems. To sum up, WirelessstoreUSA do all their business on Ebay, but have no concept of customer service and do their utmost to pass the buck if there is a problem. They do a grave disservice to honest, low cost traders on Ebay.in future, I will Google low cost sellers for negative comment rather than simply rely on EBay's feedback rating.
