Ultra Imaging Solutions Company sent broken product and refused to refund my money

I bought a Sony CM35AIR security camera from Ultra Imaging Security Solutions at their www.videosecuritycam.com website on 1/2/09. I paid $118.46.

I received the camera in the mail on 1/12/09.

First thing I notice is a strange physical anomaly on the lense, which appeared to have been glued on. Not the sort of thing you expect from a (supposedly) new sony camera.

But the camera did not come with the cable I ordered with it. So I called up Ultra Imagings tech support and told them I was missing the cable I ordered.

I reached Scott Christie and he promptly sent another package containing the cable which arrived in about 2 days.

So now that I had both parts, I hooked up the camera to my tv, and...

There was no picture. I played with the connections but to no avail.

I call up Scott Christie again and told him the camera didn't work. He assured me they only sell quality parts and to make sure it was not my TV or RF-modulator. I told him I would test it and get back to him.

So I go down to my local Fry's and pick up a cheap $50 Q-see security camera.

I plug the Q-see in to the TV and it works perfectly with a crystal clear picture. So I take it out and plug in the Sony CM35AIR, and... No picture, just a black screen.

I called up Scott and explained that the camera he sent me is not working and I am sure it's not my equipment. He says to e-mail him a picture of my TV with the Sony CM35AIR plugged in. I email him both a picture of the Sony and the Q-see plugged in.

He then asks if I want him to send me another camera, but by this time I had a working camera and I was tired of hassling with them. Not to mention the fact I had a growing suspicion I had been sold a low quality product. So I asked for my money back.

Scott told me he would refund my money, and told me to keep the camera even though I offered to mail it back. This was around 1-16-09.

And from this point things only went downhill...

1-28-09 I had still not been refunded my money. I called up Ultra Imaging Solutions and asked to talk to Scott. They told me he was gone but would be back Friday.

1-30-09 (Friday) I left a message on Scotts machine with my number asking him to call me back.

2-2-09 (Monday) still no call from Scott. So I sent the e-mail below:

Title: I still have not received my refund after 3 weeks

Body:

This is *.

You agreed to refund my bank account for the camera you sent me that was not working.

After 3 weeks there is still no refund in my bank account.

I have tried to contact you since then and you have not returned my messages.

My phone is *-*-*.

I will consider making a consumer complaint against your company if I do not hear back from you.

2-3-09 Scott responds with the following e-mail:

2-3-09 I immediately checked my bank account only to find they still had not refunded my money.

I contacted Scott by phone at 2:56PM and told him the money still had not been refunded.

He assured me he had "typed the numbers in himself" (as I recall him putting it) and the money should be there in 24-48 hours.

2-6-09 1:22 PM, More then 60 hours later my money still has not been refunded.

So, here I am, writing my first consumer complaint. I recommend everyone steer clear of Ultra Imaging Security Solutions / Ultra Imaging Solutions for three reasons:

1. I highly suspect they are selling used / refurbished products.

2. You probably won't be getting any compensation should the used / refurbished products fail to work.

3. You will waste lots of time trying to get these mistakes corrected.
