Ripoff scam in McDonald's parking lot

My husband was in the McDonalds' parking lot having lunch when two men approached him with a story about ordering too many home theater speakers. They took him to their van, showed him a brochure on the Dogg Digital Audio 5.1 speakers, showed him the list price for $1999.00, and told him they'd take $200.00 for the five speaker set with sub-woofer.

He laughed and told them he didn't believe them. They said they were working in Massachusetts somewhere, but their license plate was from Maine.

Unfortunately, my husband had been looking at buying a home entertainment theater system, figured the guys weren't on the up and up, but thought the speakers would actually work, and bought them.

When he came home, he asked me to look up Dogg Digital Audio on the internet and this web page came up. This only happened yesterday, and it was late when we got home, so I don't know if the speakers work or not. After reading all these stories, I'm not hopeful! Tell everyone you know about these guys, so we can put a stop to their scam. Unfortunately, we're all looking for a great deal out there, so we don't always think clearly when one is waved in front of our faces. Obviously, my husband made a mistake. A $200.00 mistake. Hopefully, this warning will stop others from doing the same.
