On or about February 1 I purchased a Visioneer Scanner from TigerDirect. Their Catalog advertised the scanner with a $100 dollar rebate. According to the phone sales person the rebate would be coming from Visioneer. After processing all of the applicable documents to receive said rebate I was told that the date they received my rebate request had expired. The date I ordered the unit was within the allotted time for the rebate to be honored, but Visioneer said that the rebate had to be received on or before the end of the month for the rebate to be honored.
In order to apply for the rebate you must have all of the documention e.G. Receipt, serial number, and code off of box that the scanner was sent.By the time I received the unit and sent the documentation in the rebate time was over. This is a catch 22.
I had to file complaints with The Department of Agriculture and Consumer Service Apalachee Pkwy, Tallahassee, Fla. 32399 (Attn: Elizabeth Kenon (850-410-3757) kenone@doacs. State. Fl.Us; who were very helpful in getting Javier Bellon (305) 415-2205 ext 2919) to respond to my complaint. After numerous letters and faxes to TigerDirect they finally acknowledged my complaint. They credited my account $61.00 for shipping and $39.95 for an ink cartridge that was not the right for my printer. I took the credits and learned a great lesson. Do not do business with tigerdirect. I DON'T HOW GOOD THE PRICE APPEARS TO BE THE AGGREVATION AND TIME SPENT IS NOT WORTH IT! I did not receive the $100 dollar rebate as advertised and promised. I also filed a complaint with the BBB.
