I recently ordered a lens for my DSLR camera. After shopping prices on the net, I settled on the purchase of a Nikon 18-200m lens from soniccameras.com for $499.99. After a few days I received an email from Sonic requesting me to " call " and confirm my order I was suspicious after this request thinking that i would get pressure from an operator to make additional purchases. I made the call and I was correct, I was pressured somewhat to add some additional lens filters to my order. After standing firm and refusing additional purchases I was told that the lens that I had ordered was backordered 2-3 weeks and would I be interested in a different lens, discounted and available for immediate shipping. (Although after some research I found the offer was grossly overpriced) I refused and said I would wait on the lens I had specified to become available. My conversation with the salesman was over immediately as we were disconnected. The following day I received an email from Sonic stating "Unfortunately we are currently oversold on the item you have ordered, and it is currently on a backorder for 6-8 weeks. Therefore, your order has been canceled. Please note, your credit card has not been charged". Looks like bait and switch to me.
