When I made a purchase at local Best Buy, was offered to get and put my purchase on a Best Buy Credit Card, which I did. Best Buy people did not tell me I was being set up to defer finance charges for a "promotional time". Nor did Best Buy inform me their credit card was handled through HSBC Retail Services.
Now I find I am being charged huge amount (over $500) deferred interest charges. When I called to question this with HSBC they hatefully told me this is on each statement I receive. I get my statements electronically, not by reg mail, and found this was on their statements but in very, very, small print and only showed up on the monthly statement this so called promotional was ending, not giving me enough time to pay off.
This is sneaky, very poor business practices and I will get this paid off, but will cut up this Best Buy credit card and never do business with Best Buy again. They have lost a very good customer. I would advise anyone considering getting a "best buy credit card" to be careful, be very, very, careful.
