I was looking over my last phone bill and noticed that I supposedly accepted charges from a caller in Ehrenberg, AZ last month and talked for 14 minutes (totaling over $20 with taxes). I simply do not know anyone in AZ and rarely use my landline phone for talking. I called the "from" number and it resulted in a recording. It's a complete scam.
I then googled "OSP Communications" and found this website along with others who have had the same problem. This morning I called my phone company and explained the situation and was able to get the amount credited to my account. I also put blocks on my phone.
I'm glad that I caught this. I can only think of how many other unsuspecting people this has happened to — or even those that have automatic bill pay and aren't even looking at their bill to notice something like this. I don't even understand from a "technical" point how this company can show charges for "14 minutes." It's disgusting how people feel they can steal from others like that.
