Complaint / Review
Telco Communications
Fraud, Bad-Faith, dishonest Los Angeles California

I was contacted by Telco Communications, they told me they were AT&T and that they could save me money on my monthly telephone bill. I faxed them my current bill so they could see exactly what features I had. I have 3 lines and 2 remote-forwarding lines. They reviewed my bill, services and details with me thoroughly. They called me back and told me I could save about 30% and that my bill would only be about $140 per month. They assured me the transition would be smooth, simple and easy and that there'd be no problems.

When we went to "verification" the recording (verbal contract) had several issues I was not advised about, when I hesitated to agree, the salesman came on and aggressively smoothed things out to keep me moving: I was worked & hussled.

On the day they switched my lines, my phones were all "down" from 7:30am to 5:30pm, pretty much the whole day. I work from home and having my business line down cost me thousands of dollars in lost work. For this they gave me the "maximum" they could offer in conpensation: 3 months free phone service. Several features (call forwarding, remote access to call forwarding, etc) were not functioning. It took HOURS and several calls to slowly put things back together again.

The 3 months of free service didn't happen properly either, they told me to ignore the billing yet threatening lettes came suggesting I'd have my phones turned-off if I didn't pay. Again, hours & several calls to get the 3 months compensation sorted out.

Then the bills came, instead of saving me $40 per month, the bill was actually about $50 HIGHER then my previous bill. As it turns-out, they neglected to include long-distance when calculating my new bill... Once they added that in, the correct total was actually higher then my previous service: no savings!

I repeatedly called Telco's office and was repeatedly assured someone would call me back: nobody ever called. One of Telco's operators told me they were having several problems with aggressive salespeople misleading customers and this was a common issue.

I contacted AT&T direct and they tried to get the people at Telco to respond. Someone called me, I explained everything and they assured me they'd look into it and call me back; nothing came of that. Since then I've called my same contact at AT&T and he can't get Telco to respond.

I'm going to take my 3 months for free and then jump back to FreeChoice. I fully expect Telco to then attemtp to enforce my 1-year contract, but the people at AT&T assured me they'd clear that up if/when it happens.

Avoid Telco Communications at all cost; they're bad people!
