I ordered the product on-line. Upon receipt, I assembled it. We found that it did not meet our needs so I took it apart, repacked it in the original cartons and requested an RMA.
I was told that if I had assembled it, they would not take it back. How rediculous is that? How would one know if the product was right until it was assembled! After I complained and authorized Amex to withhold payment, they relented, but said that the original packaging had to be undamaged. I explained that it had been damaged when I received it, but they threatened to refuse the delivery. How rediculous is that? The packaging could not be used again in any case. Since I was paying a restocking fee of 20% I believed the fee would cover it. I asked UPS if they had packaging that could cover and protect the ones I was sending, but they did not have any. I sent it anyway and the vendor refused it.
I have written Amex but have not yet received a reply as to a final solution.
All of the companies I have dealt with on the Web have had reasonable return policies, except these people, whose policies are absurd. Obviously, they do not want returns under any circumstance.
