I was on Yahoo Auctions, and I decided to buy an iPod someone was selling for $60. I thought this might be a scam, like the item was broken, or refurbished, or a knock off.
So I e-mailed the seller and asked him seriously 7 questions about the iPod and its authenticity, quality, mechanics, and about himself. I also looked at his feedback and he was new, but there was one positive comment. His answers were saisfactory and he made a good impression on me—quick response, polite, seemed to care about my welfare.
I bought the item and sent the money order to his residence and next thing I know it's been a week and no iPod. I went to e-mail him and his e-mail was cancelled! And I went to Yahoo and suddenly he had 5 negative reviews, stating they're glad they never sent the money order/they were ripped off. One guy totally went off on him because he had been on EBay before and scammed a ton of people there.
So I've been trying to search online on Whitepages and related sites for his phone number but no place has come up with his address period! He must have either just moved and is moving from place to place scamming people or he has taken his name off listings.
I am a college student struggling for money. I know $60 doesn't seem like much but it's a week and a half's worth of food gone down the drain!
