I went Circuit City and purchased a pack of gum. I found the gum six months later in my car with the receipt! Thinking I could get a fresher pack I went in for an exhange.
The customer service person said "I'm sorry you are outside of your exhange period". I told them I had been on vacation for the last six months and had not had time to come in becuase I realized I bought the wrong flavor.
I ask to see a manager and the manager said he was sorry and insulted me by offering to buy me a pack with the change in his pocket. I ask if this was becuase I was a christian black women and he said "of course not". It was obvious I was dealing with racist people.
I ask for the district managers phone number. I was given an 800 number and the people who answered could not even speak good English and was not American from what I could tell. I ask to speak to an American and he said he would connect me to his manager.
This whole time the front counter was watching me and one of them had the ordacity to open up gum and chew it infront of me. I know this was on person to make me mad. So finally I got a manager of the guy on the phone and after hearing my complaint called the store while I was there.
The Store manager said "it was past the 30 days" and he could not help me. He said if I would have purchased the extended warranty he could have helped me. The guy got back on the line with me and said he could not help.
I contacted the BBB and started a claim. I know Circuit City is forcing people like to me to suffer. I appreciate this site for being there for people like me to find people like you. I know your issue may be a TV or a computer but many of you are like me and understand my frustration.
