We saw this really good deal for a camera online at bestpricecameras.com and since we never had a bad experience shopping online we ordered this item. The next day we got a confirmation call and then it was explained that the camera does not have a battery and cable and we need to order that separately. So we thought ok, and did that too. Then came the rude awakening as we got the bill, it was almost 250,00 Dollars over the advertised and agreed price.
I called today to cancel the order, and got the total run around on the phone, and noticed that I was always back speaking to the same man and woman. I have a friend in New York city, she will go and look at the address and see if indeed they do have a store.
After a long back and forth and that they could not accept my cancellation a woman called "Lisa" finally gave me a cancellation number, and hopefully I will have the money credited back to my credit card soon. As I now have read so many reports I am also concerned about my privacy with them having my information.
I will write my credit card company, the District Attorney, the FBI and anything else I can think off. I have now searched online and found that they are using so many different company names that almost anywhere if you look for a reasonably priced camera (cheap) they will come up first.
If anybody has any more ideas of how to go about shutting people like them down, please let me know. I will invest the time it takes to write the letters.
Beware of cheap cameras online from now on.
