I have a Toshiba M4 tablet PC. A month before one year would hit I sent it in for repair for overheat problems. It would shutdown and not start up for several minutes, until it cooled down enough.

First repair they replace the LCD, motherboard, and all internal fans. Notebook ran ok for one week, then machine started to overheat again and a new, added problem: the screen turned into a pixel soup of green and pink, becoming completely unusable.

Second repair they claimed to replace the LCD. Notebook arrived, the second the notebook was turned on the problem was evident (as the pixel soup was visible on boot/BIOS screen) and when Windows started to load it just became more and more noticable how bad. The notebook was in worse condition on arrival from repair than it was before it was sent in the 2nd time.

Machine is still stuck at Toshiba for 3rd warranty repair, however, they just diagnosed that the LCD was bad and will just be replacing that... That they do not see any problem with the heat, although as explained to them in note and over phone any 3D app ran for a few minutes could cause the issue to appear quickly, although the machine would shutdown in 30-60 minutes if just used for web browsing or light internet use. Again, this was due to heat: the notebook would become scalding to touch, and the notebook would not power on for several minutes.
