Ripoff Overage Charges Nothing But A Scam - Family Share Plan With In-network Calling & Charged For Calls Not Made - Verizon Refuses To Prove The Charges By Hiding Them In The In-coming Call ripoff - fake overage charges

I have been fighting this claim for way too long with no resolution. The FCC does not want to be bothered - yet they are in control of all "pay-per-minute" telephone calls - The Attorney General's Office won't fight Verizon as a "single" complaint is not enough for them to do something about it - And so here I am. I have had the Family Share Plan for over a year and suddenly started getting these whopping cell phone bills riddled with overage charges.

I have in-networking calling FREE, including nights and weekends, my husband and I became concerned and started making sure we didn't use the phones and watched our usage, maybe we just didn't realize our usuage. But the next month - the same thing, overage charges. Now we could not confirm the billing because Verizon refused to disclose all those "in-coming" calls - they demanded a subpoena for that information - funny that caller ID shows who is calling on my phone, but suddenly there are "privacy issues???"

My contract with Verizon says I can't expect privacy - so who are they protecting? Anyways - this continued with no resolution. I emailed complaints and received automated responses that didn't answer my questions. I have filed complaint after complaint - The overage charges stop appearing on my bill now - but I am out about $600 in overage charges that I know are not legitimate.

I propose a resolution of allowing me out of my contract with no early termination fee and I won't continue to fight the $600 they owe me. They will only terminate ONE phone with no termination fee, they want me to pay them $175 termination fee for the other phone... So in September I get this wonderful notice of a new 40 cent Administration Fee to "help Verizon with their internal costs" - Holy Cow, now they want more money from me? I find out I can cancel my contract if I request it before the 2nd week of October. Wooohooo finally I can get out of this horrible situation. I even put my request in writing.

But now Verizon says they won't honor my request, but they will pay me back the 40 cents for the rest of my contract. Now it is all over the forums that Verizon allowed termination of service with no termination fees for the new 40 cent fee - now they are denying it. Verizon then, after my complaints shut my service off for a payment that was 10 days late while I was waiting to see if they would except my resolution - the same day my son had a severe asthma attack and the school could not get in touch with me!

Now I am no longer frustrated, I am way beyond that... So now I am out tons of money, stuck with this contract with Verizon and now forced to go to a new carrier - but I'm stuck paying Verizon now monthly for a service I am no longer using and will have to now pay $350 more to terminate. This is wrong, wrong, wrong. Anyone else charged for overage charges they don't agree with? The Attorney General's Office is now investigating - but I am told an "isolated" situation like mine is not "enough" - they need more complaints like this to do something about it. So I am seeking out those complaints. Please share with me any information you may have. Many thanks!
