100% customer support Ripoff!

In Oct. I purchased the XiumAir "Dish Type" antenna, through the website, on behalf of my husband.
We live in a rural area, have no desire for cable and were hoping the claims in the ad were true and could indeed improve our reception.

My husband mounted the item per instructions and the reception was lousy, worse than the regular antenna we currently use. I called the company for a RA # (on hold for 10 minutes—not a toll number). I received the number and proceeded to follow the instructions for the return.

I confirmed the receipt of the item through my PO confimation number and called the company to find out when I could expect my refund. I had left a message on the answering machine and my call was not returned. When I did finally connect with a live person, I was assured the item was indeed received and the full purchase price would be credited back to my card ($129.95).

The credit did not show up in my next billing cycle, so I called again. This time I was given a ref. # and told to call my credit card company in 3 days and it would be posted. When the credit was posted it was only $110.46. Hmmm, not what I had expected. I called back and was asked if the product had been damaged or had missing parts, etc. (justifies a 15% restocking fee). I said no and replied that I was previously told I would receive the full amount. I was told that they would look into it and get back to me.

I called again, same run around. The last time I called was 2/7/05, and talked with a gentleman named Mark (Marc?) He said he would check into it and get back with me the following Friday (2/11/05) As of today (2/24) I have heard nothing. I'm not surprised.

I must say, those that I have talked with have always been polite and indicated they wanted to fix the problem, but they have not followed through and never returned my calls when they said they would (at least 3 times). I did receive part of my monies back, but was told I would receive it all. The product was returned in the condition we had received it will all parts and properly packaged.

Some might say, what's the big deal, it's only $19.49, at least you got most of your money back. Sure, I'm grateful for that, but it's the principle. Plus, I'm out $22.22 in postage, (not to mention long distance charges) with nothing to show for it.

I doubt I'll ever see the rest of my money, but just wanted to let others know that if you purchase product and return it, don't expect all your money back.
