RIPOFF unfair to new AARP members and representatives do not do what they promise

After my 50th Birthday in August I joined AARP and was told the Insurance will be better. So I called the Harford and started a policy with myself and my two boys ages 16 and 21. Needless to say it was over $2,000.00 for 12 months and I knew it would be that because of my 16 year old. I am a single mom of 4 whose job is a flight attendant, so I have a busy schedule. I had three cars on the insurance and in September my mechanic told me one of the automobiles were not worth fixing, so we were on the look out for another automobile.

I called the Hartford and cancelled the insurance on the automobile. On September 3rd I callled the Hartford and asked if it was possible to put a car in my 21 year old's name and the woman at Hartford said yes it was possible and I had to be a co signer, so I knew it would be possible to do it with this car. On September 17 my son told me he found a car and could we buy it. Fifteen minutes before the agency closed we were there purchasing the car.

I called the Hartford immediately and told the girl (not old enough to be called a WOMAN) exactly what happened and I said that I forgot to get the information off the registration form and she said I had a 10 day grace period to get them the information and that they would have to write me a new policy and she said she would note the account that I called and that I would be calling back with the information. But she DID NOT put a note on my account.

I called back on September 22 to tell them to please correct my name and again I explained to the Young man (Why don't they have adults doing this?) that I bought a car on Friday and put my son on as the primary and I was on as the secondary. He said to call back with the information and that they would have to write a new policy. Well I called back and spoke to a Vaghn and told him I wanted to add this car to my insurance and he said hold one minute.

What a rude, nasty, unpleasant, unhelpful young (again) man. He said I can't insure this car because you did not call before the 17th. I said I did not know before the 17th I was buying this car, I was not even in town. Then He said well you should have called on the 17th and you did not. I said yes I did and the girl said she would put a note on the account and he said I see no note just that you called.

He said I can not add this car because you did not call on the 17th and you do not have insurance on this car and the state says you must and you will be in trouble. I can not help you call Omni, our sister company maybe they can help you. But two people I talked to from your company led me to believe all I had to do was write a new policy and it will be insured but this Vaghn would not help me and kept saying your account shows you called Friday but there are no notes here. He was nasty and unplesant and talking down to me, which I hate.

Also if those conversations are recorded then should they not have a record of my phone calls? How can two people say no problem just call us back and then a rude person say I can't insure you - go away. I sure I do not matter to this large company but I feel they should give me inurance on this car and no one gave a straight answer or the truth to me. How can a company treat people this way?
