Keiser Career College, Keiser College Save your investment and go elsewhere! Lack of quality, accreditation issues, etc

I attended Keiser for 2 years after transferring from another private college in NE (that I also have issues with!). The whole world was promised me by admissions when I got my Wonderlich test results back. I chose to do x-ray, and despite having a great score on my Wonderlich, I was told I still had to take pre-requisites because all but 1 of the classes transferred in didnt match the requirements for the pre-requisites they said I needed. Odd I thought, but whatever.

Keiser promotes their flexibility in classes all over their print and tv advertising. What they fail to mention is that some of the programs "core" classes arent flexible... AT ALL! That wasnt a big problem for me but for plenty of other students it was, and I thought it very unfair to them. Strike #1: False Advertising. The quality of the education provided really shouldnt have the word "QUALITY" anywhere the word "education". Some of the instructors were so off-topic most of the time that several of the students had complained, even to the higher ups.

Nothing was ever done. The drug use, especially on the Melbourne campus, runs rampant and interferes with the studies of those that actually care about their education. Again, several students brought this up to administration and nothing was ever done. For a school that "prides" itself on the quality of professionals they educate, they sure dont care that their students are going out to hospitals on clinicals caring for seriously ill patients while snorting coke and smoking weed at any given chance! Strike 2: Lack of quality education (more on this coming...)

As I was preparing to graduate, Keiser goes into their speechs of helping you find a job. What this really is is them throwing a stack of papers stapled together, them saying "Use plenty of these words in your resume", telling you to submit a resume to the head of your department and to administration (they dont care what it looks like after glancing at it for 3 seconds), telling you to upload it to their career website, and walking away. I am not good with resumes at all. I scheduled an appointment with Ms. Pamphile who was in charge of this aspect, and I was in there for all of 4 minutes before she told me to use the booklet for reference and sent me on out. Really?

How does uploading a resume to a school website, similar to Monster and Careerbuilder and that does the same thing, help students find jobs? When I went to transfer everything to UCF to continue my education elsewhere, I was notified that my pre-requisites are not college level courses. Excuse me? Im $40k in debt to a COLLEGE... What do you mean some of the classes I took are not college level??? I verified this with BCC and got the same response. I called the dean of my program, Dean Runck, and when I raised my concerns about this she responded quickly that the classes ARE college level and that large universities require a higher level for those classes.

Funny, BCC isnt a big university and everything they do there transfers directly over to UCF without a hitch. She wouldnt discuss anything further with me, only repeating the same thing. Strike #3: Waste of money and time. To top it all off, Keiser has hired this i3 Group to call you about your student loans. Prepare for up to 8 calls a day from them. Its not bad enough that you have Sallie Mae calling, they call you too, to "help" with your loans.

This entails them conference calling your loan company and listening in on the conversation you have with them which is a complete waste of money... And Keiser is probably charging you for that as well. While in school, even if you have loans you will probably have payments as well, too. If you dont pay those on time, you get a nice little slip of paper saying that you cant attend class until you go in and speak with the bursars office. If you are out in clinicals, you will get a nice little call from your coordinator saying if you dont come up to the school and get it taken care of you wont get credit for the days spent working your butt off until its taken care of. Also, dont be surprised if they lose your entire file.

They amazingly lost mine twice. I had to redo all information including student loan paperwork. After other reports Ive seen on here I wouldnt be surprised if they were scamming people and loan companies. I really hope this school goes under. 3 people from my graduating class have jobs in the field most of us worked so hard for our degrees in. I will be looking for others wanting to start a class action lawsuit against them. With so many eople pissed off at Keiser for multiple reasons Im surprised it hasnt happened yet. Anyone know who to contact to find out about the accreditation issue?

Id also like to mention my aunt is a math major and she took a teaching position at Keiser. She left shortly after because of how awful the school was to not only the students, but to her as well. If it wasnt bringing them money, they didnt care about it. Stay away from this school! Go to a local community college, not Keiser, Everest, etc. They can boast about their smaller class sizes and individual attention all they want. It doesnt mean you are going to get a better education. All they care about it starting the next round of students/money bags a few months later.
