A few days ago I found out that I was 'over extended' on my checking account. Seems that I had 3 checks returned for a charge of $30.00 each. Which made me to take a good look at my bank statements and try to figure out where the money had gone.
The only item that I can remember ordering recently was In February. I called to order the 6 Second Abs from an infocommercial on T.V. The customer service representative kept trying to sell me other stuff to which I said NO to repeatedly. I finally had to tell him in no uncertain terms that I ONLY want the item that I specifically called to order (the 6 Second Abs) nothing else PERIOD! I told him that I did not want ANYTHING else billed to me! One month later the monthly charges of $12.95 to MWI*Connections began.
I went to my bank again today and explained the situation and told them about the scam that was going on with this company... Just to be told that there was nothing they could do to help me with the charges. So, I asked them if they could at least help me STOP the charges from reoccurring... And was informed that a 'stop payment' could be put on the 'name' of the company and that service usually costs $20.00, but that they would waive that fee, this time.
I will be placing a call to the Florida Attorney General's office tomorrow to see what if any information I can get from them and will also follow the steps outlined here as far as notifying my bank (in writing), sending a letter to MWI, Inc., sending copies to the Nebraska Attorney General's Office and the Federal Trade Commission.
I am not going to just stand by and let this keep happening. I am outraged that this has been going on for so long and is still going on. Where does the responsibility for this type of crap lie? Would it be on the Federal level seeing that it seems to be a National if not International company? From what I've been reading here, it seems this company is just getting more and more powerful instead of getting weaker. I feel that someone somewhere is not doing their job.
