I only took four classes at APUS before I dropped out due to the lack of education I was receiving there. Not once did I ever have to open a book to do any of my assignments and I received an "A" in all four classes. The professors I had would never reply to any email or answer any questions posted in the discussion forums. I feel as though I wasted my money and time when I could have been going somewhere else! I was told that APUS credits are transferrable - needless to say, after looking at other colleges/universities, hardly any of their credits will transfer. I can say atleast I only spent money on four classes before my "gut feeling" on it all started getting stronger and I listened to it.
I had nothing but issues with the Financial Aid Department from day one. At first I received notification that they received my financial aid; a month later I received a notice from them that I owed for tuition when I had proof in black and white that they had in fact received my student loans and grant money. Since I have withdrawn from this joke of a college this past weekend, I have had nothing but hateful responses from the Financial Aid Department and given the run around on the money that is owed back to me for the remaining classes they were paid for. Today when I called them to see if I could get a straight answer, I was transferred to four different people and nobody could answer a simple question.
Prior to enrolling here, they made this place sound like it was a great place to obtain an education. Talking about giving someone a good sales pitch. After doing more research after I had enrolled, I found out that most employers have never heard of APUS, unlike what the enrollment counselor had told me. I had a friend of mine call them to see what type of information they would be told about this place; needless to say, after hearing different things that what I was told for the exact same questions, they called them out on it. The "professional" had the nerve to hang up!
I would highly recommend to anyone considering this place to further their education to look elsewhere! APUS might be cheap on prices, but so is the education; or shall I say lack of education and professionalism!
