Wyotech is the biggest rip-off I have ever seen. They have 6 week "Phases" where they try to run all the kids through in 9 months. It costs 20 plus thousand dollars and the auto company's as well as all the heavy machine company's will not give a grain of salt to a wyotech CERTIFICATE.
Call or E-mail Ford or Chevy dealerships and see what they think about Wyotech cetificates. I say certificates because you don't even get a real degree. I contacted 14 Ford dealerships and 7 Chevy dealerships and they all said the same thing. You have no better chance of getting a job with that $25,000 piece of paper than you do walking in the door and applying. Don't take my word for it see for your self don't make the same mistake that I did.
Also there are 50 or more kids in each class with one instructor. Sometimes two.in the diesel department they have less than 20 running engines with several hundred students needing to use them to complete daily assignments. Half the engines don't even run and the instructors can't fix them. These are the people that are suppose to be training you for new technology and they can't even fix 15 and twenty year old motors. The whole school just teaches basic technology you come out of there with no real experience and no more mechanical ability's than when you came in.
If you are wanting to become a mechanic and want to learn some basic skills go to your nearest community college. Or better yet go shop to shop and try to get an apprenticeship you have to start that way with or without Wyotech's piece of paper. Check into it for yourself call ask the dealers. Don't make the same mistake that I did.
