I ordered a 3 day trial for $9.95 for Net Detective Plus from Harris Digital Publishing Group. I used my Visa Debit card. No where on there site did it state that there would be a recurring charge of $29.95 being taken from my card each month. Make note that it does say that now but DID NOT when I signed up or I would not have. I have been charged $29.95 twice. Once for May and once for June. I did not receive a notice the first time that a charge had been taken but was notified the second time 20 days after it was taken.
I e-mailed and asked for a refund but was told that I only had 3 days to request a refund. When I received the notice regarding the second charge I tried to sign on to the website but it said my sign in information did not exist. I then tried to retrieve my sign in information using my e-mail address and it came back saying that no information could be found for that e-mail. I did get in and saw the three charges and they do have the correct e-mail. I was going to request a refund from their link but it said there was no information with my e-mail address or credit card number. These charges were taken without my knowledge and without my approval.
When I originally signed up I went and registered and paid for Criminal Information and it came up with a different person. When I contacted them about this I was told too bad, it was who you requested. When I told them I was going to dispute the charge they told me they would report me to the credit bureau. I then got a really nasty e-mail claiming I was threatning and that we were done communicating.in other words they were not giving me a refund or another chance at no charge to pull up the correct person. I also pulled up another person who has been in and out of jail and prison and the only thing that pulled up on him was something he did back in 1979.
I see on the usacomplaints.com site that there are numerous negative reports about this company and all claiming to having the same problems I did. I believe a Lawsuit needs to be filed against this company to stop them. They have cost everyone alot of money, time, heartache and worry.
