Elaine Genetti Reynolds is a great con artist.
Elaine first contacted me in August when I placed an ad for my Andalusian stallion Caudillo De Martinez online with Dreamhorse.com ads. I sent her a video tape of Caudillo and explained that the only reason that I was selling this horse that I really loved so much was due to a impending divorce. Elaine and I spent alot of time on the phone working out the details and she agreed to buy Cuadillo for $9000 and pay to have him shipped to her ranch in New York.
The money was supposed to arrive in the end of the month (September) and then the shipper would arrive. I got all the necessary shots and vet checks done at my expense with the understanding that Elaine would reimburse me. One day in late September I got the call from the transport company that they truck was in the area and wanted to get the horse. I was a fool and trusted Elaine when she promised me that the check was in the mail.
I never recieved so much as a dime for my wonderful horse. Elaine promised me for over a year first one thing then another. First her claim was that her husband was out of town and couldnt sign the check which needed two signatures, then she claimed he was divorcing her and had left her penniless. She then claimed she would send me her tax return which never arrived. Several times she went so far as to get my bank deposit # and claim that the money was being wired to me ASAP. All this was nonsense.
The last time I contacted her she claimed my horse was dying of cancer and that she didnt want him. I told her to send him back which she refused. I found someone would would help me pay for the transport back to California and she refused that also by saying that she was out " thousands of dollars for treatment" and would not relaese him till she was paid for it all. I asked for a veterinary statement that Caudillo was indeed suffering from some sort of illness. She refused to send me that.
Every time I would catch her in a lie she would get hysterical and scream at me into the phone and hang up on me.
I am in California and a single mom with two kids. I had no way to fight her legally over this since I couldnt afford to fly to New York to try to get my horse back. It would have taken months in court at the least.
If anyone who is in New York knows how my Cuadillo is doing (he is a big grey stallion and I love him dearly) please send me an email and let me know he is okay.
