We are just opening a new business and were contacted by Northern Leasing regarding the lease of a credit card swipe machine. We were told the lease would be $39.95 per month and when we said we were not opening the business until January of Byron Field stated that was not a problem that he had authority to set aside the monthly charges until January and to waive the first month's fee. Therefore we would not be charged until February.
We received the machine and immediately received two charges on our bank account for October and November for the lease of this machine which has not even been removed from the box yet, or set up as yet.
We tried to contact him to tell him that with our new software and hardware this machine would not be compatible and that we already had one built into our hardware system that is coming. He neither returns our phone calls or emails. We have gone to the bank and stopped all future automatic deductions, but we are trying to get in touch with Byron to get a return authorization number for the machine and to get a cancellation on the contract.
To this point we have had no success. We are going to see our attorney immediately regarding this before we return the machine or do anything further. If anyone has any further updated information regarding this company and dealing with them we would appreciate hearing from you asap.
