DeVry went from bad to worse

I am questioning the professionalism of their staff on numerous mistakes they have made these past three sememsters. I know DeVry is expensive, I didn't mind that in the beginning because I honestly thought I was getting my money's worth. I'll start from the beginning. When I was called by the recruiter and we talked for a bit about DeVry, I asked if they had Computer Science as a major, and I was told "yes". So I went in a few days later and talked to the recruiter, and I asked if it was possible for me to do a double major, and I was also told "yes", and I have witnesses to attest to this. Then the next week I came in to sign more paper work, and when I asked about the double major she said "We don't offer a double major", so I just dropped the subject because I was doing CIS anyway.in the first sememster, the staff kept calling me saying that they can't sign me up for classes because they didn't have my transcripts, though I turned in the official transcript the same day I signed the paper work, and I also have a witness for that. So, I had to go back to my highschool and pay for another transcript. This time my father handed it to the staff member and said "Don't lose it this time", my father was a little peeved that they lost it in the first place. About half way through the sememster, I just finished Session A and just started my classes in Session B. Then one night when I was in class a faculty member handed my an envelope. It stated that I wouldn't be able to register for next sememster because they don't have my transcripts.
So, this time I confronted the staff and told them that I already gave them my official transcripts twice. I was told that there was nothing they could do, so I went back to my highschool and paid for another official transcript. Once, that was over I was back to classes; online and onsite. I must admit that their online classes are a big joke, they are waaaaay to easy. For one class, I never even had to look at the online textbook, and I passed with an A. Again, I must admit however, that some students they allow into the university, shouldn't be there in the first place. Now, I'm not saying I'm the smartest person in the world, but I know when things are handed to me and I know when I'm being wronged. Back to complaints: Recently this third sememster, I was given a class that wasn't even required for my graduation and it wasn't a remedial class either. Now the advisors sign me up for classes and make the schedule. At the time I didn't realize that course was required, because I firgured this lady knew what she was doing and would do her job. I got an A in this course, and later realized that my loan money was wasted on a class I never even had to take. When I confronted the same lady about it, she said "Yes, that course isn't required and I'm not sure why you were placed in it, but maybe we can transfer that credit to another class." What?! Can they do that? Take a computer course credit and use that credit to replace what... A business credit? This also proves a point that the faculty and staff have no clue to what they are doing. So rencently, I decided to put in a transfer to a community college, because obviously I am not getting my money's worth.
Don't worry there is more: Just two days ago, I confronted the same lady that gave me my schedule, that I wanted a refund for the class I was given that wasn't a requirement. The class that SHE signed me up for. What she told me was this, "We can't do that, but maybe the college you transfer to will accept that credit." I couldn't believe it, so I scheduled an appointment with the director of that campus for this friday (tommorow). After that, a few minutes later I talked to the financial advisor (who I personally believe is too young to have the job she has, and has little to none financial knowledge.) She is a whole different story.in the beginning, when I was first getting loans, I asked (because this is my first time in college mind you) what is the difference between a subsidized, and unsubsidized loan. Then she said, "Well, I'm not too sure, but (then rambled on with some random crap) and so, just apply for FASFA, and we will go from there." Again, I have a witness to attest to this also. Back to what happend two days ago, I talked to the same financial advisor and asked about my loans. Then she started to talk about my scholarship (which gave me $1000 a semester for nine semesters) she said that because I am transferring out of DeVry that I will have to pay back what the scholarship covered in earlier semesters. Now, in the paper work I received about the scholarship said nothing about that and I will surely asked them for the paper that I signed and the details. Anywho, my point is; Can they do that? Take away my scholarship (which is fine with me) but make me pay for it? To me, that makes no sense. After I visit with the director tomorrow, I will see if he will offer me a refund for that class, and talk with him about the scholarship. If not, then I will start looking for a lawyer.
