Online tutoring that RIPS you off! No way to cancel service! No Phone Number to call! Bangladesh

I would like you to do a story or investigate how many people have been taken advantage of by a company called Tutorvista. Http://www.tutorvista.com / The company does business out of Bangladesh, India. I was looking for a means to help my son with some sort of tutoring advise when we cam across this website on-line. After browsing on the site, a chat box suddenly appears offering you a promotional package at a discount for one week. You are then taken to another area where you immediately fill out your credit card number and then shown how to log onto the site where your account is supposed to appear. This is where the problem arises. The account page does not load. At this point you are actually talking to someone on the phone due to the fact that they have asked to contact you by phone to speed the process's along faster. At this point I started to feel that something was not right. I confronted them about the page not loading. They assured me that it was the first time I had logged on and it would take along time, the first time you log on. This did not sound right, as all other websites on my PC worked fine. I did not follow their instructions to give them anymore personal data until they could reassure me that the website worked properly. It did not. I was told that after I gave the additional personal information the would have their tech department contact me and help me to make the web page appear. I did not give them anymore information. I realized that I had already typed my credit card information in a box on their site without any name or personal information usually needed to finish a credit card transaction on line. I was charged a small fee of $14.99, not too painful. But then I came to the realization that I would immediately cancel all services before they charged me an additional $99.99. Over the next few days, I chatted with them asking how I could cancel my service. I was instructed to go to the website and call the phone number on the site and cancel. Immediately looking on the website I clicked on an area labeled "contact us" There is no phone number listed under customer care. Only an email address, and a fax number. I went back to the website again and engaged another chat agent who then apologized and instructed me to FAX a letter stating that I wanted to cancel my services, which I did. 5 days went by and I noticed that there was a charge on my on line bank account summery page that a transaction was in process. After calling the bank, they found the charge that was already authorized by tutor vista for $99.99. I emailed tutor vista again stating my request to immediately stop service and cancel my account. All while I was on the phone with the bank. I told the bank personnel what had happened and informed them that I had tried to cancel the service for tutor vista and that I couldn't reach the by phone because there was no phone listed.incidentally, when they called me, the caller ID only registered a 5 digit number. I received the phone number from the bank that the teller gave me and dialed it. When they answered the phone they said "HELLO" I asked, "Is this Tutor vista"? The person on the phone was at a loss for words. He said " Ahhhh yea".in the background, I could hear numerous voices and conversations going on loudly as you might hear in a "Boiler room" type location. I asked for customer service and was told to hold on, in an Indian accent. The same person came on the phone and stated "That's me". After going round and round with my story about trying to cancel my account and trying to give them the information they were asking for, they became upset at what I was telling them. Conveniently they could not substantiate the chats I had using their chat attendant on their site. They told me over and over that I didn't get that information on their site and they didn't know where I came up with a reference number that the emailed me, about the transaction that went through for the first $14.99. I asked them for a reimbursement of the $99.99 they had charged me after cancel ling the service with them. They stated that is is automatic and to cancel I had to call them personally and cancel over the phone. I immediately stated "Using what phone number"?? He stumbled for words. After another ten minutes, he stated that his supervisor would call me and handle this matter. (The previous dialog was with a person named ANSHUMAN) Approximately 10 minutes passed and I received another phone call from someone stating they were from Tutor vista. He was supposedly the supervisor. His name was RAJ. He stated without any chance for me to inject my views, that "I" had not called in time to cancel my service. And that there was nothing that could be done about this. I realized that arguing with this person would produce little results, as he obviously was told to call to end this dispute with tutor vista and me. My next step is to cancel my credit card as advised by the bank so that further transactions cannot be made. My hope is that you will expose Tutor vista to America in their economic time of need, not to fall prey to this company (if they really are a company) and educate the people who watch your show about the dealings that Tutor vista, located in Bangladesh, India. Places on families who are looking for a sound business on line to provide tutoring resources to their children. Don't let another American or ANY person for that matter fall prey to Tutor vista.
