I joined Walden University as a student in January. I was extremely excited as it was the only type of education I could complete as a young wife and mother who was also working full time while raising a young daughter. I completed all my classroom course work and worked very hard and was able to maintain a 4.0 gpa. I was thrilled about this as it really was no easy feat. After completing my coursework for my MS in Organizational Psychology, I moved on to my thesis classes - the last thing I needed for my degree. I had been told by advising that it should take no more than 3 quarters to finish my thesis. I am now completing my 8th quarter in attempts to get my degree. I have now been shuffled through 4 different thesis chairmen as two have quit teaching and one simply vanished and advising claimed they couldn't get in contact with him. I have worked one on one with two different people in academic advising - which only happened after a threatening and desperate phone call to the CEO of Laureate Education Inc. I'm desperate. I've thrown thousands of dollars at Walden attempting to get this finished. I feel like I've danced around in circles for them trying to get this done, but I'm continually put off. I have been ignored repeatedly. Despite the fact that they have basically stolen thousands of dollars from my by not giving me the service I am paying for, I can't seem to get to the top priority of anyone's desk. I have no idea what I'm going to do going forward because now not only have they stolen money from me but they are now also impeding my ability to get a teaching position this year as I will not have my degree before the start of the school year. They're destroying my potential career and charging thousands of dollars to do so. I can't just give up, though, because I've already spent so much trying to get this degree - and it would all be worthless if I just walked away now. No one will help. But they ignore me very well!
