Alliance Tractor Trailer School
Total Ripoff! Arden North Carolina

First the company sales drone gives you there text book sales pitch complete with out - dated videos of up-to-date trucks and equipment which are no where to be seen at the school. There equipment (trucks) are junk. Out dated, falling apart, never working right etc. The salesmen did an awesome job of lying to me. Telling me what i wanted to hear. He pressured me to sign up for the next class. I was told they had limited spots and i had to act quickly if i wanted to reserve a seat. I had to come up with $395.00 that day or he couldn't insure me i would be accepted or have a seat available. $245.00 was for 10 cheesy books which looked like a 6th grader had made to study before your 1st day of class. When i got to the class there was only one other student than myself.

The first few days of class the only other student and myself were entertained by the "director" also and instructor. I don't know about instructing but i sure got to hear lots and lots of "trucker stories" and the whole detailed life story of the "director/instructor" life. After countless stories of this persons life we were given a state Commercial Drivers License Manual to read by ourselves to study for our CDL permit. I did pass no thanks to the instructor or school.

If you don't get your CDL permit by day 2 or 3 you can't go on the road to practice driving. So there is no preparation or studying in class to be ready to take your CDL permit written test at your DMV. Totally amazing!!!

Now that the school took my $5990.00 i did get my CDL license. Yea!!! But sad to say there job placement is null and void. There is no such thing at this school!!! When you call to ask to speak with someone in Job placement you get a different person every time and are asked "did you fill out any applications" Well da! Yes. They have no "insiders" in the business. No contacts with company's etc. No one they can send you to or for you to call. You would think that 26 years in the business as they state on their web site www.alliancetractortrailer.com they would at least have some connections. But they don't. Very sad especially in this present day economy. I had to take a loan out to pay for this school and now i have to pay the loan back with interest with no job in the field i graduated in. Like i said very sad where they take your money but any help from the school is non existent. Your on your own.

The school might of been a good school way back in the 80's or maybe early 90's but that's about it. They are just a has been school/business here to take your money. It's all about the money to them. They don't even invest any money into getting up to date equipment. They just wait til' they fall apart to barely get by fixing it again. They really don't care about you as a student. I have been to other schools (college) where at least they try to find you a job. No not this place. Really sad. I sure hope someone who is interested in this school takes seriously what i've written here. Don't be suckered by this joke of a "school".

On a side note. Some of the instructors are awesome guys who care. The first instructor, the "director" is a joke but the other instructors are awesome and care. But there hands are tied due to the "director" and Vice president of the company. There are plenty of other reputable schools out there. Don't waste your time or money on this one.
