The web site of Western Governors University says the following:

Basic Tuition for Most Programs is Just $2,890 Per Six-Month Term
WGU charges tuition at a flat rate every six months, so you pay for the time, not the credit hours. Compare that with what other reputable, regionally accredited online universities charge, and you'll discover WGU tuition is typically half the cost."
The reality is that quality of education is low, but the price is not better with comparison with many other online colleges where you can get the same education, if not better.
When I applied to WGU, I already had an associate degree in accounting. The admissions officer promised that most of 60 credits I've earned in College would be honored. Later they changed the program and honored only 15 credits from College.
WGU does not grade students' achievements. They give you either pass or no pass.in the transcript you have only "pass" grades. If you are a good student and want to earn A's, WGU is not a place to go.
$2,890 Per Six-Month Term seems at the first glance like a good price for quality education.in reality, many other colleges accredited by DETC (Distance Education and Training Counsel, offer better prices and better education.
I've earned 87 credits in WGU, but there were at least two more semesters to go. I've transferred to, and I'm glad I did. I got my bachelor's degree with A's and B's, and the only "pass" grades in my transcript are from WGU. From my experience, those "pass" grades do not impress potential employers. At least, not in a positive way.
And the last, but not the least, point.in normal colleges you take one subject at a time and earn your 3 credits.in WGU you take exams for several subjects at once and earn 6 or 9 or 12 points. Just imagine for a minute to mix together business law and finance and who-knows-what in one cocktail and take a one-shot exam to earn 9 points. They say they are not a traditional college. They are not indeed. You might get an easy pass - sorry, no A's - but it's not worth the money.
