An "EARLY WARNING NOTICE" was mailed to my young son, but inside, was addressed "To the Parents of..." This notice stated, "Our client, KIDS DISCOVER (magazine), requires that we send you this notice to verify that payment has not been received... (blah, blah, blah)."
I puzzled over this for a minute and remembered that although we had subscribed to this magazine some time ago, I had chosen not to renew the subscription. I also had not received any more issues or invoices from the magazine.
Although this notice "looked" and "sounded" official, I was suspicious, as well as angry. I was ready to call the number shown, but read on the back that disputes must be in writing.
Although there was no web address on the notice, I searched for it online. It's there, and the first entry shown is another way they can get your money. Further down, I found The consumer complaints, listing North Shore Agency! So here I am, registering my complaint. I will not respond to NSA at all, but I WILL inform KIDS DISCOVER magazine of this ruse.
