Biggest regret of my life=Ohio center for broadcasting

If i were to go back to the end of i would rethink of what i wanted to attend school for, or would have gone somewhere else, rather than this dump of a school in Valley view. I should have went to a 2 year community college or something, anything would have been better than OCB.

I remember when myself and two of my friends from here in Aurora went there because we all had interest in the same field. Filled out paperwork and all that crap, they both eventually backed out and i went forward with it. This is only a 10 month course which i was kind of questionable about when it came to finding a job but they had people like Gary James there to sit there and tell you, "by the end of the year, you will be working in the field." It all kind of started with the interview i had before i started my class there. The womans name i believe was Kathy, not sure, but i remember her telling me about there being dorms and you "supposedly" get discounts at local hotels if you live far and need to stay at one overnight.

Now, i knew there werent any dorms around, im from the area you idiot. The discount thing, i wasnt sure of since i didnt need to worry about that but a friend of mine from that class found out that wasnt true either. So right from the start, they mislead you. But it doesnt compare to all the shit they talk about their "job placement" program, which really sucks. They build this up to be a dream come true type of thing and they talk down 2 year and 4 year colleges and all that.

I really wanted to get into TV and was always interested in working for a station or getting into the film industry. Haha yah right, only place i ended up working was back at a restuarant and still owe over 6,000 dollars and its holding me back from going back to school or doing other things i want to do.

I have read other reports on here and they all hit the nail right on the head about the instructors not really being professionals, some getting fired, very out-dated equipment, shitty studios and recording equipment, parking lot was full alot, and you graduate in A FRICKIN GARAGE for godsakes. Total tuition i beleive was about $15,000 and where does this money go? I would love to know.

When it came to the internship program, that was basically what you were paying for i guess since its the experience you get at the job before actually working for that or another company. It took me months from the intership start date to even find one which was unbelievable since you dont get paid at all so why would it be hard to find free work? I ended up doing what i didnt want to do at all which was promotions for a radio station out of downtown Cleveland. Yah so i got to drive all the way from Aurora to Cleveland for something i did not enjoy at all, was so happy when it was over with.

So now done with the intership and in comes graduation, end of 2005. We get to graduate in a garage which was conveintenly connected to a car shop i beleive. At the time it wast an embarassement really but now i think about it it was, to me and my parents. All gary james did for me after i got out of that place was send me emails of some jobs out in the middle of no where. He called me a few times to get me to go out of state when i clearly said i wasnt moving and that i wanted a local job. I sent resume after resume out to news stations, heard absolutely nothing back. Going back to the intership for a second, i remember getting interviewed for wmms and i hear later the guy didnt like me. Allan Cologne is an ass.

Lets see, its 2009 now and i still work at a damn restaurtant, the last place i want to be. I see that they still have job fairs at that school and i hear nothing from them. At least i should know of these things if im a graduate and never found a job, right? Nope. Thats not how that school operates. My class had alot of potential in it for the business but that school ruined it.

Anyone reading this and is interested in that dump ocb, think twice, save your $15,000 or its probably $20,000 now. Go to a community college, im sure the instructors there are REAL professionals. Get at me, we need to come together, everyone that this place screwed over.
